Running his first off-road race in 1990, Chad Hall followed in the footsteps of his father, off-road racing legend Rod Hall. Chad won that first VORRA race and went on to win the Class 4 title and the overall points title that year – a feat repeated in 1991 with his brother Josh.

h1In the decade since, Chad Hall’s racing career has been diverse, with competition in the SCORE/HDRA Unlimited Class, the short-course SODA series, and more recently, Best in the Desert Racing Association in his Full Stock-class HUMMER H1. Hall has won several series championships and has recorded wins in the Parker 400, Nevada 1000, Silver State 300 and the renowned Baja 1000 six times.

In 1996, Hall joined the U.S. Charities racing team and drove his HUMMER in the 1996 Dakar Rally – a 5,000-mile race through North Africa that is known is one of the world’s toughest races. Hall and fellow team members became the first Americans to ever finish the event in an American-built vehicle.

While Chad is the driver of the Team HUMMER H1 Pickup, he has a day job at Winkel HUMMER in Reno, Nevada, where he is the general manager at the dealership.
